RE INFORMATION

Reconciliation

This Thursday we are looking forward to celebrating the Sacrament of Reconciliation with our Year 3 and 4 students and families. The Sacrament of Reconciliation, is the time when we celebrate the wonderful experience of God loving, healing and forgiving us. The Grade 3 and 4 students have been preparing for this sacrament this term. The Sacraments of Initiation – Baptism, Confirmation and The Eucharist – make us part of God’s family and call us to live as followers of Jesus.

We have close to 30 children receiving the sacrament or a special blessing, and so evening is split into two sessions. The Year 3 Paraliturgy will be at 6.30pm and the Year 4 Paraliturgy will be at 7.30pm.

We are looking forward to a special night with the children and families.

Project Compassion

Each year Project Compassion brings together thousands of Australians in schools, parishes and the community to stand in solidarity with the world’s most vulnerable communities, to help end poverty, promote justice and uphold dignity.

This year, the theme of Project Compassion is “Be More.” It challenges us to venture into a new experience of compassion, and is taken from the invitation of Saint Oscar Romero, to “Aspire not to have more, but to be more.” This message invites us to step up and step out for those who do not have the essential resources they need for their survival.

This year for Project Compassion each classroom has a large donation box on their prayer table to collect money. The Grade 5 and 6 students have their own mini fundraising boxes this year to encourage them to donate and think of others during the season of Lent.

Kind Regards,
