College Captains 2021

Since becoming College Captains we both have spent some time together thinking about our visions for the 2022 school year. Together our biggest goals so far for 2022 are:

  • To encourage and promote women’s health around our school community, while promoting self-confidence, especially as women in today's society and during the ‘girls supporting girls’ movement’.
  • Next year, we both want to make sure that everyone feels a sense of belonging through connecting with each other especially after the two Covid years we have all endured, to do this we want to allow and see more students becoming actively involved in our school community.
  • Finally we want to work with the rest of the student body to create a more engaging school environment where people look forward to coming to school and a place where people can bond together over common interests and passions.

For both of us we believe that strength comes from being united and we need to encourage and support one another and uphold the ‘sisterhood’ values. The highlight for both of us is the way that MFG builds confidence amongst all of us and in ways that we wouldn’t even think of.

Here at Matthew Flinders we are encouraged, supported and motivated to be and do our best, in no matter what we do and this comes from the confidence we have gained here in the school community.

For next year, we are so excited to be your College Captains and we can't wait to see all of you grow and flourish. We want your opinions and for your voices to be heard around the school next year for a hopefully ‘normal’ year without the interruptions of lengthy lockdowns.

So please speak up and be heard. Focus on yourselves, while you study hard and remember to check in with your friends. Have fun, be safe and look after yourselves over the summer holidays.
