Year 10 Vision Boards

Vision Board Term 3-4 During Lockdown 2021

It wasn't easy being locked in a room in our houses for months on end. Taking care of my mental health while juggling my school life was challenging, but it taught me a lot about myself. It was clearly much more difficult not being physically there in a traditional atmosphere, and having to rely on our laptops for 6 hours straight, continually video chatting, and taking online tests was stressful to say the least. My motivation, on the other hand, was dwindling, but I was learning what it really meant to be persistent.

During the period of remote learning, Mr. Riffo assigned our class to create a vision board; a board where you set out and prioritise your own personal goals, values, and intentions. This is usually displayed in a prominent place to remind you WHY you do what you do every day. The purpose of making these vision boards is to aid us in visualising our goals. To make the vision board we got given a series of steps to follow: Set and prioritise, create a basic structure for you vision board on a poster paper or in a computer program, write goals and ideas on you poster, collect images and words for the vision board, sort and arrange the images and words, edit and create your goal board, glue down your images, add your own phrases or sketches, and lastly display! This was a well-thought-out activity that challenged us to consider what we wanted from our future; it improved our grasp of what we wanted and how we wanted to get there. I personally really enjoyed this activity.
