Year 8 band performance

Over the last two years our year 8 band have been performance ready on a number of occasions. Each time, lockdown began just before they were ready to perform.

Back at school finally and with restrictions easing, they were finally able to perform for their families for the first time. Here are four videos to prove it happened!

Year 8 music

During the latest round of remote learning, our year 8 students became producers and created remixes of different songs, including songs by Dua Lipa and Lady Gaga. Each class selected which remix they thought would best represent their class. The year 8 music teachers listened to the best remixes from each class and selected the best overall remix, listening for a good balance between the original song and new elements.

Congratulations to the best remixes from each year 8 music class in 2021:

8A – Matilda Waugh

8B – Carly McSwan

8C – Chelsea Paton

8D – Mia Parker

8E – Lauren Morphet

8F – Amy Jenkins

8G – Mizuki Roche

8H – Sophie Fouweather

Mr Veevers, Mr Campbell and Ms Harvey have listened to these remixes and selected Matilda Waugh’s remix as the best in the year level.

All-star choir rehearsal

On Wednesday 17 November the all-stars had their first rehearsal since remote learning. Due to year level assemblies and an exam it was a small turn up, but just as exciting to gather together. We are raring to go with plans for a brief Christmas concert during Headstart.

Everyone is welcome to join the choir. Rehearsals are Wednesday lunchtimes during Headstart.
