2021 student awards

About the awards

This year, despite not being able to host a formal Presentation Evening event, the College would like to acknowledge students who have continued to work hard, achieve success and have shown commitment to their studies, their school and the community. We believe the students at Mentone Girls’ Secondary College have proven to be resilient and dedicated to their education program. The students recognised formally by the awards below were able to demonstrate their success through their ongoing commitment and contributions to their learning program. Congratulations to all students who have received an award in 2021!

A list of the awards and a brief description to provide context:

The Principal Award: This award acknowledges the student in a year level with the best results in most subject areas over the course of the year.

College 'Work' Award: This award acknowledges the student in a year level with the most improved academic performance during the year in a range of subjects.

College 'Courage' Award: This award acknowledges the student in a year level who has consistently displayed a commitment to the school and the community.

Academic Excellence: These awards acknowledge students who have worked to achieve outstanding academic results in multiple subject areas over the course of the year.

Subject Awards: These awards acknowledge students who have had outstanding academic results throughout the year in a specific Domain area based on reports, CATs, Learning Tasks and Teacher Judgements.

Sport Award: This award acknowledges the student in a year level who has demonstrated outstanding performance and contribution throughout the year in Inter-school sports, House sports and Physical Education lessons.

Performing Arts Award: This award acknowledges the student in a year level who has demonstrated an outstanding commitment and contribution over the course of the year to the Performing Arts.
