"Flick the Switch" On this Sunday 6-8pm.  Come down to the fantastic xmas tree in town, bring the kids, blanket and a snack and enjoy the community atmosphere and seeing the lights turn on!  Kids can enjoy a xmas tree cookie and drink provided by AGL.

Mt Beauty Swim Club welcomes new and returning swimmers. Training in the pool will be Mon & Wed from 430pm. Groupings and training times determined by qualified coaches.

Pool opens 19/11 - first in the pool and ‘Come & Try’ training sessions are on Monday 22/11 & Wednesday 24/11 from 430pm. 


Woolworths Blast Cricket Program 

Is your child aged between approximately 5 to 10 years of age, and keen on playing cricket in a fun and social way? The Mount Beauty Woolworths Blast cricket program will be running on Fridays after school in December, end of January and in February, for boys and girls of all abilities. Thanks to fundraising efforts by the cricket club, we can offer the program for $25 a player (fees are usually $99 a child). Richmond Institute and headspace Albury Wodonga are offering free mental health first aid training online.

 

The training is advertised towards volunteers and coaches of sporting clubs, but is open to all applicants. Places are limited so sign up ASAP.

JUNIOR CRICKET COACHING  by former Victorian cricketer and Level 3 Coach Rohan Larkin.  This 1 to 1 coaching program (based in Wodonga) caters for all standards of junior cricketers and is focused on assisting a player to maximise their potential.  For more information, Parents can call Rohan on 0458216622 or email rpbl@live.com.au



Craig Dent is currently a Writer in Residence at Outdoor School Bogong funded by Creative Victoria. He is engaged to create a 3D creative writing platform with students from Tallangatta and Beechworth Year 9's about the future of wilderness set in 2050 as well as a book commission from OSB on the 50th history of the school and its people. 

 

Craig has recently released a calendar book 'A Galaxy Forms in a Forest Glade' which was recently featured in the Alpine Observer and can be purchased here.  

 

Craig is also currently volunteering his time for 3 months to coach the Dederang Mount Beauty Youth Academy where we have 22 players, 11 girls and 11 boys aged 12 to 18 training for AFL football. 


 

The Team Mount Beauty Gravel Groms program kicked off Friday 15th Oct.

If you have a keen, or wanting to be keen, mountain biker of primary or early secondary school age this is the program for them.

Gravel Groms runs every Friday at 5pm during school terms 4 and 1. The rides are for all genders and abilities and are adult supervised group rides.

Participant fees for the 2021/2022 season are $40 for your first child, $30 for your second child, $20 for your third child, capped at $90 maximum for a family.

Communications about the program, e.g. adverse weather, are posted to the program Facebook page.

Registrations can be completed online.

All participants need to have a current MTBA or AusCycling membership nominating Team Mount Beauty as their club.

Little Athletics

We're back! We are sure you're as excited as we are to see local summer sport coming back. Mount Beauty Little Athletics Centre are preparing for a season full of positivity, and look forward to our Little Athletes & their families joining us for a season of COVID safe - family fun and fitness. Meeting on Wednesday evenings at 5pm on the Les Peart oval (high school oval) we hope to see you there for some athletics fun! 



We will start Mt Beauty Football Youth Academy  Thursday 16th September 4pm to 6pm at Mt Beauty Oval next to primary school. Mario from Murray Bushrangers will be coming on the 23rd. 

 



 

 

 


Do something you love this Summer, as the famous MYO Summer School turns 50. Join over 700 young musicians for an inspirational week of musical discoveries, engaging workshops and performances in the heart of Melbourne.

 

Summer School is about a whole lot more than developing your technique and expanding your repertoire knowledge. It’s about opening minds to a whole new sphere of musical discovery. It’s about sharing phenomenal musical experiences.

 

Taking place at the University of Melbourne in the cultural hub of the city, there are daily rehearsals in symphony orchestras, string orchestras, symphonic bands, jazz orchestras, and jazz combos catering for all levels and interest. The week concludes with concerts for families and friends in the beautiful Elisabeth Murdoch Hall at the Melbourne Recital Centre.

Summer School Residential Camp

Young musicians from regional Victoria are invited to apply for the MYO Summer School Residential Camp, offering participants between the ages of 12 and 17 the opportunity to stay in Melbourne in fully supervised accommodation, taking part in Summer School each day and enjoying social and cultural activities each afternoon and evening. You can submit and expression of interest for this within the main Summer School application.
