PRINCIPAL'S REPORT
Welcome back everyone and what a wonderful and exciting start to the year we have had. Swimming Sports was an outstanding event with students, staff, and parents braving the weather to hang out at the pool and enjoy an outdoor activity. Congratulations to all the students and staff who participated, as well as our age champions. Congratulations also to Howitt who won the Swimming Sports last week. Go yellow!
To add to our busy start to the year, Year 7s enjoyed extra days of transition before settling fully into their new subjects and classes. Thank you to those teachers who were involved and gave up extra time to help these students find their feet.
Our 2020 Presentation Evening was also held this week. Again, it was special to have so many of our community together at last. We have missed the opportunity to showcase our students face to face, so this event was an extra joy. Congratulations to all students who received an award.
Lastly, on Thursday night, the music staff held an information session for existing and new students to the music program. Learning an instrument teaches students many skills and is something we actively encourage. 2020 has taught us that life is meant to be enjoyed – get out – try something new (like an instrument) and be active in your community.
School Council elections are now open and if you are interested in joining this dynamic council, John and I would encourage you to collect a nomination form from the General Office.
