Library News

Welcome to a new year in the Library

The Library is looking forward to another great year in 2021. Already we’ve welcomed our Year 7 students in for orientation sessions and have created a Summer Reading display to highlight books with a summer theme.

This year we are aiming to get as many students as possible involved in the Victorian Premiers’ Reading Challenge, with some great prizes on offer.

We are also starting to recruit some new Library Monitors who will represent the student voice and be involved in the running of the Library.

Later this year, we are looking forward to celebrating Children’s Book Week. As part of Book Week, we are planning to arrange an author to visit the school, to share their knowledge and experiences with our Year 7s.

Keep an eye out for all the great events and activities coming in 2021!

Become a Library Monitor in 2021

We are seeking students who want to help make the Library a fun and great place to be at EDSC by signing up to become Library Monitors.

Library Monitors are student representatives in their library: helping choose books for students, creating interesting displays, writing book reviews, helping at the library front desk, and doing general shelving and tidying. Students in all year levels are encouraged to sign up. There will be an end of year celebration to thank monitors for their great work.

To sign up, students can fill out the form on the library website and bring it into the Library by Friday February 26. They can also get a copy of the form to sign up and find out more information in the Library.
