Presentation Night

I hope you managed to tune into our Presentation Night recording last week. Despite the ‘different’ year that it was, we were still able to witness students' achievements and celebrate College life. Presentation Night and Final Assembly are about acknowledging the work of all our students and staff. The events allow us to come together and congratulate the whole school community. Congratulations to all Dunhelen students and particularly students who were awarded School Colours, Encouragement or Subject awards. Your hard work is recognised and you should be very proud of your achievements.

2021 Homerooms

Over the holidays, students will be notified of their homeroom for 2021. The allocation of homerooms is an arduous task and one that requires much thought. There are many factors taken into consideration when making up homerooms and our aim is to compose homerooms that we think, in our professional capacity, will be productive. Your child might find that they are not in the same homeroom as their ‘friends’. I encourage you to discuss with them the opportunity to widen their friendship circle. They will know most of the students in their class unless they are new to the College. We encourage all students to widen their friendship circle and to remember that the classroom is a workplace, and while it can be fun, the time to socialise is at recess and lunchtime.

Farewell Year 9 Students

The Year 9 students were able to have a little introduction to school life in Brookhill last week during step-up day. We wish them all the very best as they enter the next phase of their journey.  We hope that they hold some good memories of their middle school years. Good luck to all!

Thank You

As we finish the year, I would like to thank the wonderful students and staff who make coming to work so much fun. The homeroom teachers who go above and beyond and the Assistant Heads of School who are always ready to help and support students and staff. A big thank you to parents also; it is lovely getting to know you and your child.

Young People At Home During The Holidays

I am hoping that all students will enjoy a restful break. Understanding that they have been home quite a lot this year, 'Be You' and 'Headspace' have produced an article about young people at home during the holidays. Please click on the link to read it.

Merry Christmas

Wishing you all a blessed Christmas and a new year filled with love, laughter and good health. Please ensure you get to spend lots of time with loved ones. I look forward to working with you all in 2021.
