Secondary Department News 

YEAR 7/8

This term we have been writing procedural texts in literacy. 7/8D have not only written about different recipes, but also about a skill or activity that they are interested in. After writing drafts with a goal, materials and steps section, students chose different ways they would like to present their good copies. Some of these included Microsoft word, Pages, PowerPoint, Book Creator or making a poster using coloured paper. Students also included pictures to make each step easier to understand. Here is a snapshot of some of their work.

YEAR 10

It is hard to believe that the end of the school year is upon us!!

It has truly been a remarkable and memorable year.  I am very proud of all the students.  Their level of commitment to learning has been exemplary.

Whilst we had to make changes to our program, we were able to introduce lots of new learning opportunities that were valuable and practical. 

Reading student reflections highlighted just how much the students valued the Textiles and Barista Program as well as streaming for numeracy.  Students built strong relationships with the wider school community and in particular, Specialist Staff who supported students during remote learning. 

Each student will walk away this year with a personal sewing kit and an apron that they have sewn - a lovely keepsake and reminder of the year..
