Year 6/7 Transition

The Year 6’s have been preparing for their move to secondary school and  have had visits to their new school to explore the unique way secondary timetables work, as well as how to be organised to change classes regularly through-out the day. We wish all our grade 6 students all the very best in their new and exciting adventures and celebrate their years of primary school as the school year comes to a close.

Farwell to all our Families and we wish you all the best in your                     endeavours

K/P-6/7 Transition Day

K/P - 6/7 Transition Day was on Tuesday the 8th Decemebr and gave students the opportunity  to spend a day transitioning to their 2021 year level for the day. They have experienced what it was like with a new group of students (in some cases) and heard about the year ahead from their 2021 teacher. Transitions are a great opportunity for students to practice their growth mindset. It is important that children can acknowledge their feelings, name their thinking and reframe unhelpful thoughts to helpful thoughts. Change can be uncomfortable but also an opportunity to practice coping strategies for working outside our comfort zone (with new experiences and in new environments).

Transition is designed to support students feel confident and minimise any anxiety they may feel as they make the transition to their next year level. We encourage you to talk about this process with your child/ren in the coming weeks.
