Changes around our school
Many changes have taken place over the holiday break.
- Work has commenced and is nearly finished on our boundary security fence.
- The new digital sign is operational at the front of the school.
- The Skills House has been created and will be a new space to teach functional life skills that students need in order to live a better, more fulfilling life. The Skills House will include the Retreat, bedroom, dining room, laundry, work enterprise centre and the job coach program. More information will be shared about this new program and space in the next issue.
- New kitchens for classes 6 and 7.
- The Chook Shed is being relocated to the front of the vineyard and will incorporate chickens, a worm farm, composting bins, raised kitchen garden beds and a native flower farm.
- New administration office where Mrs Trish Riley and Mrs Teish Vidler work has been finished. The administration office team now consists of five staff members.
- General Assistant workshed and office situated on the Campus site.
- Eye gaze technology will be used in some classrooms.
- Two new School Counsellors will be supporting our school over three days per week.
New changes coming over the next few months:
- Kiss and drop area on the Campus Site.
- Upgrades to three accessible toilets and change rooms for classes 5, 6 and 7.
- Accessible toilet and change room attached to the hydrotherapy spa.
- Undercover walkway from back transport to the school.
- Drinking fountains installed.
Our wishlist that we are hopeful about for the future:
- New demountable staffroom for the Campus site.
- Two new demountables with accessible toilets to replace existing classrooms on the back oval.
- Storage shed on the main site.
- Additional shade across the main and campus sites.
I thank our wonderful team of General Assistants and Farm Assistants who have worked tirelessly over the holidays to ensure that many of these projects were finished - Mrs Megan Baker, Mr Anthony Wilson, Mr Bill Fairgrieve, Mr Ian Cole, Mr Lachlan Baker, Mr Maurice Steer and Mr Pat Allen.

Setting Expectations
A reminder about the following to ensure that our students are safe at school. Please discuss these expectations with your child.
- Students should be at school by 9:00am each day. Classes are open from 8:45am and school finishes at 3:00pm. Due to COVID-19, students need to be dropped off and picked up through the drive through on either Anson Street or Lords Place.
- The NSW COVID-19 QR sign in is used when people are visiting the school.
- Mobile phones - not allowed on site for primary students; secondary students may bring mobile phones to school but they must be off and out of site or locked in the classroom storeroom during school hours. Please refer to the school procedures about mobile phone use on the school website.
- Students are encouraged to wear a hat and apply sunscreen daily.
- To ensure the safety of all students and staff and provide a healthy work/school environment for the school community, aerosols and sprays are banned from school premises and all excursions, after school activities and sporting events. This includes spray deodorants.
- Soft drinks and energy drinks are not to be consumed on the school site. We have a Dietitian, Abbey Tredinnick who is available to discuss this further on either Mondays or Thursdays.
- Smoking is not allowed on site or near school buildings, fences or student pick up areas. This includes parents, staff and students.
If you have any questions about expectations set out above, please make an appointment with one of our Deputy Principals Jodie Pritchard or Julie Hudson to discuss further.
