Special Delivery

An enormous 10th Anniversary and

Christmas Present for SFS

This week we received the long awaited news........

We have finally been approved to receive a GRANT!!

Yes! It is TRUE...

For the construction of

Our  MULTI-PURPOSE Hall

To be built in 2021!

Our staff and children are over the moon with excitement as I am sure every family is. We have been working relentlessly to achieve this dream over the past four years. Finally, we received the long awaited news that we will soon have a multi-purpose hall big enough for us to gather for assemblies and events, a basketball size gym for indoor sports when it is winter, a music room and a stage for indoor and even outdoor concerts.

There will be no more need to move furniture in Learning Space 3 for Mass!! We can all gather in our new hall and we can even have a bushdance or an incursion with space to move. A small kitchen will be included for our special events.

We will truly have all our dreams come true.

I wasted no time in accepting the offer and contacting our architects. We will be working with Trent Mullavey, our Capital Delivery Officer who has been assigned by Catholic Education Melbourne to work with us on this project. Our next step is to get our Building Design Service Agreement signed to commence the process of reviewing our sketch plans and getting preliminary costs approved.

2021 will be a very exciting year for all of us at St Francis de Sales. What a great way to finish 2020 and what a sensational reward after the challenges we have faced in 2020. We are finishing the year on TOP! COVID normal and a hall to look forward to.

Graduation of the Class of 2020

We are indeed grateful that we were able to come together to celebrate this important event, the graduation of the Class of 2020 from St Francis de Sales, Primary School.

I think we will always remember this year when despite all the obstacles our Yr 6 Children, were able to preserver and achieve great outcomes. It is a year that has taught us many things about us as individuals and as a community.

You know that you can switch from school learning to remote learning and back again.  We have been agile and flexible important life skills for the future.

In their final year, our Class of 2020 have stepped up and found opportunities to be courageous, to shine and be leaders. They have displayed the school values of perseverance, responsibility and compassion in action teams, on the sporting field and with the juniors. They have shared their talents as singers, artists and problem solvers. They have been role models.

It is great to hear what our Year 6 children have learnt on their journey at SFS.

  • I am a unique person and I don’t need to be the same as others.
  • I belong no matter what I do.
  • If I try I can achieve my goals.
  • To treat others the way I want to be treated. Follow Jesus footsteps.
  • Never give up.
  • To always be grateful.
  • I got smarter/more sensible over the years…. Glad to hear that!!

This captures our school values that staff and parents felt were important when the school started 10 years ago. They said that if you had these insight in your backpack at graduation, you would be well prepared for the journey ahead.

We are indeed very proud of all our graduates, their individual and collective achievements and the people they have become.

Thanks to the sacrifices and love of parents, the guidance of teachers and their own personal commitment they are have completed their Primary Education.

We pray that each one shines in the world like bright stars. Continue blazing brightly, continue soaring, continue boldly stepping forward and remain open to all the opportunities that lie ahead.

We look forward to hearing about your adventures and we wish you the very BEST as you commence your next journey.

Remember St Francis de Sales says,  "be who you are and be that perfectly well.”  The world needs you and the many gifts you have to offer.

“Go make a difference”

May God hold you always in the palm of his hand

“I will never forget you I have carved you on the palm of my hand.”

CONGRATULATIONS Class of 2020!
