WELLBEING

Dear Parents and Families,

Welcome back to Term 3, and what a term we have in store for you all. Wellbeing Wednesdays will begin in Week 3 with Yoga Jackie here all day. She will be running kids yoga classes for 30 minutes with each level. Stay tuned as there may even be an opportunity for a parents and kids yoga session after school in the coming weeks. Please see the timetable below and don’t forget that all students will need to wear their sports uniform on Wednesdays from week 3 until the end of term.

Year 2-6 will also be having a mindfulness in action and tools for transition program on Wednesdays from week 4 with Marisa from Life Skills. Please see below the timetable for this program.

If you require further information about what will be happening during these sessions please see myself or your child’s classroom teacher as a break down of each lesson has been provided.

I also wanted to bring to your attention Connors Run which is a great community event to get involved in. "Connor's Run is about finding your awesomeness, celebrating courage and Connor. From Sandringham to the boatsheds on the Yarra, it's 18.8 or 9.6km that supports the Robert Connor Dawes Foundation's brain matters projects. Join us on Sunday September 15 and be a part of Australia's largest event for paediatric brain cancer.”

Please follow the link if you would like to set up a team to run as a group representing the St James community.

This week I received an email from St Johns in regards to a competition for a defibrillator and some first aid kits. If you have a few spare minutes I would be very grateful if parents could please fill out the entry form to go in the running for the prizes.

It would be terrific if we could win the defibrillator worth over $3000.

Thank-you everyone and looking forward to a wonderful term of Wellbeing on Wednesdays!

WINTER APPEAL

At the end of last term we celebrated the mass for the Sacred Heart lead beautifully by the Year 4 students. It was a wonderful opportunity for us to come together as a faith community and put Social Justice into action through our donations to St Vincent dePaul’s Winter Appeal. Please see below a letter of thanks from the Gardenvale Conference.

Thank you St James staff, students and parents.

The shelves in our store-room are now stocked

with the tins, packets, jars and bottles of food

which you donated to the St Vincent de Paul

Winter Appeal at the end of term.

Thanks to your amazing generosity, we are able

to fill our bags and deliver your food to families

in need in our community. They are truly grateful

for your kindness and so are our members.

We wish every blessing for you and your families.
