Jells Park PS Book Fair 2017

The Scholastic Book Fair is arriving at our school on Thursday 3 August. This is a fantastic opportunity for parents and students to purchase quality books at discounted prices. As a result of your purchases, the school will receive a substantial number of free books for our library.

There will be an opportunity for parents and children to purchase on Monday 7 August and Tuesday 8 August. The Book Fair will be open before school from 8.30 to 9.30am and after school from 3.30 to 4.30pm on these days.

Thank you to the parents who have offered their help with sales. We are still looking for more parent helpers, particularly in the mornings.  If you are able to help on one or more of the above times, please return your notice or phone/email the office by Wednesday 2 August.

See you at the Book Fair!

Book Drive

We are running a Book Drive to collect donations for Reading Out Of Poverty (ROOP), a local not-for-profit organisation that provides opportunities for children from disadvantaged communities to engage in reading and early literacy activities.

If you have any children’s books (aged 0-5) you no longer need, please consider donating them to this worthy cause. Thanks to those who have already donated.

There will be a collection box outside the library and in OSHClub until 18 August.

Thank you for your support!

Lunch Time Clubs

The staff at school will be giving up their time to run an extensive lunch-time clubs program for the younger students of the school during Term 3. Please see the attached list of clubs that will run from week 4 (beginning Monday 7 August) till week 8. Children can join one club only and should have handed their nomination form into Mr Farmer in the PE office. Unfortunately due to number restrictions Clubs are only open to Foundation, Level 1 and Level 2 students.

Thank you Mr Farmer- PE Teacher.

OzKids Magazine

A notice was emailed  to parents on Wednesday 26 July about this wonderful opportunity. It is also attached below.

We are offering an exciting opportunity for children with artistic and literary talents to be involved in producing a piece of work that could be published in OzKids.

OzKids is a magazine which is distributed nationally and published online through their website. Its purpose is to promote and support children's literary and artistic talents and to provide a vehicle for children to appreciate and develop their skills and encourage them to continue in the arts, especially when they see their work published.

Children who are interested can come along to the Art Room at lunch time on Tuesday 1 August to find out more. For more information head to http://ozkids.com.au

Thanks,

Tracey Dring and Brian Clarke
