VCAL Dinner

The senior VCAL class of 2017 from CRC Sydenham hosted a VCAL dinner as a charity dinner for the Ozanam house foundation. The Ozanam house foundation is a charity group within Melbourne caring for the homeless and destabilizing families or individuals.
The VCAL dinner was organised by the senior VCAL class as part of their school curriculum and was held in Quatrefoils on the 1st of June. The night was a success hosting a 3 course dinner, prepared by our chef Chris and his hospitality students for 70 guests and hosting entertainment such as speeches from our guest speaker from Ozanam house who shared with us his many thanks and life stories about coming to help people in Melbourne. We also had stunning performances from two music students Stella & Nicole.
The planning of the night had begun at the start of the year and was almost entirely planned by the VCAL senior class. They organised themselves into groups with specific jobs planning the VCAL dinner. These groups handled different aspects of planning the dinner, creating and researching a potential menu, communications between groups and teachers, organising entertainment on the night, decoration, and mock tails. All their hard work and determination led to the success of the night and at least $1,000 being raised for the Ozanam house foundation.
