The final challenge

Saturday was a day of mixed fortunes, preceded by some atrocious weather. Of the games that were played our two Open sides maintained their good form, playing attractive and effective winning rugby. Fragiacomo, Magee and Price all made significant contributions while Richie, Thrum and O’Donovan were the pick of our 2nds. Both teams had clear cut wins. Elsewhere it was a tough struggle with St Augustine’s probably our toughest opponents in the league.

15As put in a sterling defensive effort with Millar and Hall leading the way. This was a gutsy effort showing self–belief against stronger opposition; however both 15As and 14As lost to stronger opponents.

Our 13As held them to 5-5 at half time before slipping to a narrow loss. Colgan, Cleary, Glass, Panozzo and Moutevelis were at the forefront with some fine tactical kicking from Riley. 14Bs made the long journey south to play Chevalier and despite strong performances from Robertson, Greenland and Tobin they couldn't catch the home side.

This week it’s our final game of the season at Home to Kinross. Back in June we came away from Kinross with 7 wins. How good would it be to finish the season with all our teams winning at Oxford Falls.

This is our challenge this week - a clean sweep for team St Pius X Rugby!
