WALKATHON

Just a reminder to assist and encourage your son to collect sponsors on his form.  Please check he has his form.  If he hasn’t, please check in the bottom of the bag under the squashed banana!

SPORT TOMORROW

Tomorrow is the Gala Day which is the culmination of our winter season.  The boys leave and return at the normal times. The boys bring in their Rugby, Soccer (Football) and AFL gear.  They are broken into teams and play a round robin against each other. It is always a fun and very competitive day.  It is helpful, especially in rugby if the boys bring two jerseys- a school and another jersey.

Next week, 18th August, we commence summer sports trials.

DEBATING

Best of luck to the debaters this Friday against Masada.  We are at home and the topic is “Living in the city is better than the country.” This sounds fair for both the affirmative and negative teams.  Get your thinking caps on!

TRIVIA NIGHT

A reminder that the Trivia Night which raises funds that go back to assist your son(s) is on this Saturday night at Oxford Falls.  It is always a fun night.

ICAS MATHS COMPETITION

Next Monday the boys will be involved in the CIAS Mathematics Competition.

IPSHA PERFORMING ARTS FESTIVAL

Next Tuesday, 16 August, our choir will be performing at the Sydney Town Hall. The boys meet at school at 8 am in their sports uniform with their recess and lunch. We will travel into the town hall for our individual and masses choir rehearsals.  Later that night the boys will be beautifully dressed with polished shoes (that is a hint!) and they will perform in an iconic Sydney building.  This is one of those memorable experiences that I have heard people talk of much later in life.  Parents are reminded that the seats are not numbered so it is wise to arrive early.  I’m looking forward to the night although I will be working a lot behind the scenes.  Break a leg boys!

STEMANIA

As a prelude to Science Week, Year 6 have an incursion in the College Gym at Chatswood on Wednesday 17th August.  The incursion is entitled 'Stemania'. (STEM Education – Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). This should prove to be a very rewarding educational experience.

Thanks for your support.
