School Captains and Performing Arts Report

School Captains

This term the school captains have assisted and participated in a range of activities including:

* weekly meetings

* our first time attending and speaking at a school council meeting

* organising the Easter raffle prizes (along with the SRC’s and domain captains)

* encouraging students during clean up Australia Day

We recently attended an SRC Cluster meeting with a range of other leaders from the Whittlesea school district. We discussed leadership within our school and what it meant to us, while also setting goals and a plan to help us make the best of our captaincy in 2019.

We look forward to what the rest of the year has to offer.

Performing Arts Report

This term in MAD Dance we have been working on ideas for our big performance coming up next term on Monday 22nd of July. This performance is called Wakakirri. Wakakirri is a competition for any school to compete in state wide. In this performance we have to tell a story through dance. All of our MAD Dancers have put in all of their ideas and have all worked together to come up with a 5-7 minute performance. If we continue to work hard in rehearsals, we may be able to perform it at Song, Dance and Drama Night, which is going to be held next term. We all can’t wait to show you what we have choreographed.

In MAD Music this term, we have been working hard in preparation for the upcoming Song, Dance and Drama Night. In addition to this, students have been getting other songs ready for School Of Rock to be held next term in June. Students have been doing assessment tasks and assessing their performance skills too.

We are looking forward to what the rest of the year brings.
