This book was about a girl who ran away from her orphanage and got lost and never found her way back. I loved this book because it was very inspirational and showed me that you have to try hard to accomplish things. I would recommend it to Year 4+ readers. I give this book a 4 ½ Star Rating. A little boy named Harry was part of a play and was the character called ‘Scrooge’. Harry’s dad who’s not interested in the play turns up on the night. The characters both learn a lesson about love. A young aboriginal girl was taken from her parents and gets adopted into a white family who tell her to forget her past which she finds very difficult. She is teased all the time at school but eventually makes friends and learns to fit in. I loved how th book made me feel sad and happy at the same time. Amelia has magic powers and changes colour when she gets angry or scared which makes her special. I loved it when they found out who the graffiti bandit was. The Outhwaite family moved to London to inherit a rich relative’s mansion but as they settle into the house it isn’t as it seems to be. I loved the descriptive language that the author used ass it made the book really interesting to read Overall this book was intriguing and I would recommend it to Year 5+ readers. Lilly’s mum and dad get lost at sea while doing research and Lilly decides to rescue them. I loved how Lilly had a big fear of water but was able to conquer it! Collin finds a book in an abandoned house and he and his friend Tara read about Walker and a strange girl called Sparrow. I loved how this book was a story within a story and wondered where the author got the idea to write it this way. This would be close to the best book I have read so far! A boy called Storm Boy saves a pelican called Mr pelican from dying. This story tells about their close relationship as they grow up together.
