Principal's Report
Friday 9 November was the last day for Cowra High students completing their examinations and it was also the day we officially celebrated with our students at their formal graduation dinner. I was extremely proud as I congratulated each student with their graduation certificates. I know we will get many outstanding HSC results but regardless of this, each student has every right to be proud of their accomplishments in successfully completing their secondary education. The completion of the HSC is often taken for granted, but I am acutely aware of how hard students work to reach the very best results they are capable of achieving, many in spite of daunting hurtles that life throws in their way. On the night I challenged each to find their passion in life and to follow it. I repeat that challenge now.
On Monday 12 November we held our Year 7 information night. On the night I had the great privilege of showing a group of parents and students around our school. This was part of an evening where we not only shared the important practical information parents need to know as their children enter the world of high school, but faculties were able to show off, often with an interactive display what they have to offer students throughout their time at Cowra High. I hope both students and parents found the experience worthwhile.
Earlier in the month Year 10 also spent a day focused on safe driving. The RYDA experience was given to Year 10 this year. It was hoped that at a time when the students are gaining their Learner’s permits, the experience will provide an extra safety message to help them develop into better drivers. I thank Cowra Rotary for again organising this great experience. It is extremely worthwhile for all involved.
Next Friday the NSW Schools Spectacular kicks off. We have a huge contingency of Drama and Dance students again involved. I know from experience what an incredible experience this is and I encourage you to make the effort, if at all possible, to travel to Sydney and watch this year’s performance. Tickets can be obtained through Ticketek.
Have a great fortnight.

Farewell Assembly for Mr Bullock
On Friday November 30 at 1:00pm there will be a special assembly to celebrate the career of Mr Paul Bullock and his upcoming retirement. He will not retire on this day, but in recognition of the importance he has always given to the students of Cowra High, we will be having this assembly followed by a BBQ for staff, visitors and students rather than a special dinner.
Please come along and share in this celebration.
Blazers
Cowra High School would sincerely like to thank those local businesses who have sponsored the supply of formal attire for our School Captain Group in recent times; namely, Cowra Services Club, Studio Menswear and Style for Women and, Mr Embroidery.
With the announcement of our incoming 2019 Captain Group, the school is seeking expressions of interest from any local organisation who would like the opportunity to sponsor the supply of customised blazers for each of the five new members.
Please contact the school if you would like more information.
Cancer Fundraising
Cowra High has spent this term fundraising for the National Breast Cancer Foundation and participating in Movember. Students and staff have raised funds through mufti days and morning teas. Thank you to everyone who has donated to these worthwhile causes.
PBL Winners
Congratulations to our wonderful students who have been rewarded for their respectful and responsible behaviour.
We would like to thank our PBL sponsors: Mr Embroidery Cowra, Bushman's Boots and All Cowra, Subway Cowra, Domino's Pizza, Sportspower Cowra and McDonald's Cowra. Your ongoing support is fantastic and our students really appreciate it!
