Future in Focus

Exploring the world of work
Future in Focus day provided our Year 12 students with the future world of work knowledge, experiences, opportunities, vision and purpose. Students focused on the skills that match their interests and strengths. They began to realise that the more self aware they become, the more confident they become about the skills they have.
The program encouraged our Year 12’s to be open to opportunities and new ways of considering suitable jobs. Forty two local employers, current students and employees volunteered their time supported our students during the ‘Connect to job skills’ expo by sharing their career story and interacting with them.
The Road to Success session prompted our students to set a goal and identify and map the non-academic steps they need to undertake to reach their goal such as applications, finances, accommodation and travel.
The Skills Road Show presentation included inspirational career stories and why it’s important for students to be thinking about their career journey, how the skillsroad tools can help and what employers are looking for.
Mr Glen Gerreyn from The Hopeful Institute concluded our day and connected to each and everyone of our students, providing them with very useful strategies on how to create hope and vision in their future.
