Paving the Way to the Future
We are pleased to announce that our new Commemorative Path is now well underway.
Located at the front of the school, adjacent to the flagpoles, the commemorative pathway will celebrate former students and staff of Nossal High School. This is a project sponsored by the PFA and ensures the contribution of past members of the school community will 'live on" at the gateway to the campus.
Commemorative pavers cost just $50.00 and can be ordered at the General Office. Orders for this unique way to have your name permanently displayed at Nossal High School, close on Friday December 2.
Victorian Interschool Dressage Championships
Over the past year I have been competing in the Interschool Equestrian Dressage Championships at Ayr Hill Equestrian Centre.
The Series consists of four rounds of competition, competing against students from all around Victoria and collecting points after each event of the series. To be eligible to collect points, each rider has to complete 2 dressage tests at the same level on each day of competition.
My horse Spyder and I competed in all four rounds in the respectable Novice Level - Senior division 15 to 18 yrs old. We finished second overall in the Series in our Class, earning 23 out of a maximum of 40 points, with the champion of the series finishing on 30 points.
I hope to continue representing Nossal in the Interschool Equestrian community in the next few years.

Year 9 Cricket Match Against Melbourne High school
On Thursday, October 27 we took another step in what is becoming a tradition with Melbourne High School, when a group of boys from Year 9 played MHS in a friendly cricket match. The match has been played at MHS in the past but, due to the recent rain, MHS was not able to get their turf wicket prepared and this time we played on a neutral ground in Cheltenham.
We bowled first and found it tough going as MHS compiled a nice total of 150 on a slow ground. The highlight being that we got four run outs. In chasing the total we struggled and managed a still respectable 96.
The important thing was that we had another great day continuing to cement the strong ties between the two schools and perhaps forging friendships that may continue for many years to come. MHS coach, Paul Keyte, was glowing in his praise for how our boys conducted themselves on the day and is very keen for this to become an ongoing fixture for our two schools.
I was also greatly impressed by our student’s behavior as we continue to grow our favourable reputation in the wider community. Both bus drivers thought our school was the best behaved that they had come across. High praise indeed! Our students continue to do great things and it isn’t just in the classroom that this is happening.
On the day we were not the winners of the match, but sometimes there are more important things than winning. Well done boys.
