ANZAC Dawn Service

Lest we Forget

Mulu and I attended this year’s ANZAC day dawn service here in Melton, where hundreds of people from the Melton region came together to pay tribute to the people who sacrifice themselves for our nation. This day is important for all of us to remember, and signifies a great deal for the country.

During the ceremony, pigeons were released to show their significance during the war. During the period of the war nearly a quarter of a million birds were used by the Army, and Civil Defense Services including the Police, the Fire Service, and Home Guard. Pigeons were essential to the war, as they carried messages  that saved thousands of service men and women’s lives. Written by Tahlia

Mulu and Tahlia accompanied College Principal, Mr Reynolds, Ms Sobey and Ms Nicholas to lay two wreathes, one made by the Year 8 students and another on behalf of the College community.
