Congratulations to our year 7 and 8 students on what has been a wonderful start to the term.

Our Year 8F and 8E classes have joined Mr Velden, Ms Bhatt and Mr Pizaro on a wonderful hike to Werribee Gorge where they focussed on developing skills that will enable them to be resilient in the face of challenges. Well done to all students who have completed the hike so far. Our final group of 8H and 8G departs next week –good luck! 

Our Year 7 students have been working hard focussing on their numeracy and literacy skills in their English and Maths classrooms. Our teaching team have put together scaffolded programs to link our work on the Victorian Curriculum to NAPLAN-style questions that will enable students to become familiar with the NAPLAN assessments and allow them to do their best on these tests as well as prepare them for success in other tests in the future.

Our Year 7 and Year 8 Student Leaders have been selected by their peers and had their first meetings together as a team. The students were buzzing with ideas about how to work together to improve the learning of all students.

And finally – congratulations to the 119 students who enjoyed a pizza lunch last week for achieving 100% attendance in term 1. These students have demonstrated our STARR value of success by allowing themselves the opportunity to learn every day of term. Well done year 7 and 8s!
