Principal's Message

Dear Parents and Carers

The end of term provides a great time to pause and reflect upon the opportunities provided to and achievements of our students.  This term we have seen;

- grades 3 and 4 students attending their annual camps

- grade 5 students visiting our Sister School in Machong

- grade 1-6 cross country

- grade 4-6 swimming carnival and students participating in district and regional events

We also had a significant number of parents attend the Internet Safety information session run by the Office of the eSafety Commissioner.  The key points coming out of this session were;

- Start the chat - recognising that we can all play an important role in helping children to have a safe and positive online experience.   This includes talking to the parents of your child's friends about how they use the internet and social media in their home.

- How to help your child deal with issues that may occur online - this includes cyberbullying and viewing inappropriate material

- How to help your child act responsibly online from a young age - even for preschool children, it is never too early to instil good habits, such as reminding children of the basic digital intelligence principles: respect, empathy, critical thinking, responsible behaviour and resilience.

The following link provides details of how you can support your child in the digital environment and covers what was discussed on the night.

Wishing you all a safe and relaxing break.

Megan
