Leadership @ Monty

Challenging Times....

Right now, there are many unknowns. But there are also things we do know.  We know that the kids in our care, need calm. We know that they need reassurance and comfort, both verbal and through our actions.  Take the time to reassure your child at this time.

We tell our children to be kind, to put the needs of others before their own.  I am so grateful to have witnessed our parent community acting in this way also. Our school community is strong.  Continue to take care and look out for others.  And please ask for help, if you need help.

Our entire Monty staff have been working around the clock to prepare programs that will support learning continuity for our students in the case of a school closure. I thank staff for their ongoing commitment and care of our students at this time whilst caring and thinking about their own partners/children/families.  Our staff are an incredible, innovative bunch of professionals - please remember to show them your support and gratitude.

In the event of a school closure, we will continue learning remotely by providing daily activities for the students to complete at home where possible. This will predominately be delivered via SeeSaw. Please ensure you have downloaded the app and have access to your child's home learning account.  Students should be fairly familiar with this learning platform already. Please be aware of hard copy documents that your child may bring home, in particular passwords and codes for particular learning platforms. Information for parents will continue to be communicated via Compass. Thank you for your support as we develop our remote learning processes at this time.

As of today,  we have an extra cleaning service at school. Sanjil will be employed during the day as an addition to our current contracted clean to focus and clean "High Touch Areas". Thanks Sanjil!

Take care,

Janene

Colour Explosion Fun Run

Last Thursday was an amazing afternoon of colour and fun-raising! In typical Monty fashion,  not only did the students have loads of fun, but parents, carers, grandparents and staff were right in there as well! A huge thanks to all that were involved and helped out - whether that be in the work preceding the event, cooking snags on the day, squirting kids with colour, or cheering on other students. We are also extremely grateful for the effort that went into the fundraising side of things. We are still waiting on a final figure but we believe that after expenses/prizes, the school will have raised approximately $25,000.  This is an amazing community effort and I can't wait to get started on the playground.   Well done Team Monty!

Parent Teacher Interviews

Please note that interviews will no longer be face-to face sessions with the teacher.  Classroom teachers will be conducting 15 minute phone interview/conferences with parents on Wednesday 25th March.  Bookings will be  closing at 4pm on the 23rd March.  Please be aware that when a teacher calls your mobile phone, that  "No Caller ID'  will most likely show on your screen.
