Special Moments
Last week I had a few special moments during my two days here when Year 12 students came into the library flourishing sheets of paper … their sign off sheets. As I checked that they had no books outstanding, I chatted with them about their hopes for next year and beyond. It was a special chance to hear what they hoped to do and to wish them well in their lives beyond school. The world has some fine young folk coming its way!
Some reminders for the next few weeks:
- Student borrowing is over for the year.
- The library is open for use this week and next.
- It will be closed to students for their various activities in Weeks 8 and 9 as books are cleaned, mended and stacked neatly away for next year.
Thank you to all of you who have used our Resource Centre this year.

Premier's Reading Challenge
All our Premier’s Reading Challenge awards have arrived! Secondary students will receive their awards at their Presentation Night and Primary students received theirs on Wednesday at the Primary Assembly. We congratulate all those students who have earned certificates and medals this year and look forward to seeing even more students taking up the challenge next year.
I must give a special mention to Amy Ewers. This is the first time we have had a Year 12 student complete the challenge. WELL DONE.
The Challenge will begin again in Term 1 2020 and all students from Reception to Year 12 are encouraged to have a go. There will be seven months to complete the Challenge of reading twelve books.
We hope that children will find the time for reading during the holidays but remind you that the Reading Challenge begins with the new school year, so books read during the holidays cannot go onto a student’s 2020 list of 12 books.
God bless you all this Christmas season.
