Mazenod Old Boys

There were a couple of games in Round 13 that could have gone either way but as things turned out results went largely as expected. We have 25 people who did very well and managed to pick all six winners. Of those 25, Donna Jebb and Brendan Sweeney(13) were both only one point off the margin in Adelaide’s fairly comfortable win over an injury riddled Richmond and as such pick up $50 each.

With regard to overall standings Paul Van Luxemborg has been joined out in front by Kenneth Hall(02) with both having picked 77 winners, one ahead of Helen Murnane who is on 76 with a further seven people on 75.

Round 14 again starts on a THURSDAY and there are a number of games which will have us all thinking.

Eagles v Essendon – Remember what happened last year? The Bombers burst out of the blocks and the game was over at quarter time.  I’m hoping history doesn’t repeat itself;

Sydney v Hawthorn – Sydney coming off the bye and prior to that a big win over the Eagles. Hawthorn were disappointing in their loss to Essendon and will be keen to bounce back and pinch this one;

Melbourne v Fremantle – Having beaten Collingwood at the G, Fremantle will fancy their chances in this one. Can’t see this being anything other than a close game;

St Kilda v Brisbane – St Kilda did just enough to get over the Gold Coast. Brisbane don’t go too well away from home. Figure most will tip Brisbane but a St Kilda win wouldn’t surprise;

Port Adelaide v Geelong – Geelong has beaten Port Adelaide the last three times they have played them at Adelaide Oval so this game holds no fears for the Cats; and

Western Bulldogs v Collingwood – The Bulldogs hung on to beat Carlton but you imagine that coming off the bye Collingwood will be too strong.

Good luck and thanks for the support!
