Primary District Athletics

On Friday 23rd August 2019 a strong contingent of athletes made the trek to Grenfell for the Cowra District PSSA athletics carnival. Blessed with fantastic weather our students competed in various events including running events, high jump, discus, long jump and shot put.

With the top three from each event progressing to next the level, Boorowa Central School was successful in securing spots for 14 students to head to Dubbo for Western Region Athletic Trials on Friday 13th September 2019.

Preston Harris was awarded equal Junior Boys Champion of the day, in a hotly contested three way tie.

All of our students should be extremely proud of themselves, as their sportsmanship and behaviour on the day was nothing short of outstanding. Many thanks also to the parents who transported and supported kids throughout the day.

Students who attended the day were; Alex, Emma, Blake, Sebastian, Matilda, Deklan, Max, Joshua, Tayla, Preston, Beau, Jacob, Dakota, Declan, Isabella, Kirsten, Kyle, Tristan, Zac, Belle, Tamsyn, Peter, Avril, Finlay, Carrie, Fergus and Mickaya.

YASS Year 3-6 Touch Football

On 27th September, students from years 3-6 went to Yass for a NSW Touch Football Gala Day. We had 2 mixed teams in 3/4 and 2 mixed teams in 5/6. There were some incredible performances through the day and although scores were not kept, there were some particular highlights:

-Declan (3/4) sprinting down the sideline for a solo try

-The rapid progress made by our 3/4 teams over the day (plenty of tries scored)

-Max zig-zagging his way over the line from beyond halfway

-Chloe and Finlay scoring their first tries!

-Plenty of tries being scored in the 5/6 teams...although it WASN'T a competition.......they were pretty happy with their results.

Many thanks to Mrs Harris for organising the whole trip and helping us to improve our skills - we look forward to the Boorowa Touch/Netball Carnival in October.
