Congratulations to the Year 12 Music Performance students who performed at their Semester 1 Celebration Night on Thursday 12 June. The standard of performance was very high and demonstrated an ongoing commitment to producing high quality music. Thank you to all the Year 12 Music Performance students, their instrumental teachers and to Mr Kurowski for the great work they put in to get this evening together.
CLARINET CHOIR AT CLASAX
Huge congratulations to the Clarinet Choir (aka Squeaker Squad) who took out third place in the Intermediate Large Ensemble division of the annual competition of the Clarinet and Saxophone Society of Victoria (CLASAX) at Fintona Girls’ Grammar on Friday 13 June. They were up against groups from Methodist Ladies' College, Presbyterian Ladies' College and the Melbourne Youth Music Council. The students Grace Mather, Lily Tamir-Regev, Melissa Seow, Cassandra Samiotis, Monica Tran, Shin Ju Lum, Tristan Sumarna, Hanne Christiansen, Zo-Ellen Stannus and Cara Morgan, donned their best uniforms on curriculum day and made their way to Fintona. Directed by Ms Su Rogerson, the group performed an original work and arrangement by Ms Rogerson. Again, we thank the parents for their continued support.

The students were very well received and many in the audience commented on the high standard of performance. The students also demonstrated the core value of Resilience when a few technical issues presented themselves. Thank you to these students and to Ms Tracy Videon and Ms Blanka West for their organisation of this event.

YEAR 9 MUSIC PERFORMANCE
Congratulations to all the students in the Semester 1 Year 9 Music Performance class who performed at Claremont Terrace on Tuesday 24 June. The students, under the direction of Ms Theresa Kirk, composed and arranged music, rehearsed and presented a vast range of music for the residents. Much praise was given to the students and a request that they return in the following year.
JUNIOR CONCERT
The Junior Concert was held on Wednesday 25 June in the School Hall. Congratulations to all students who took part on the evening. It was fantastic to see so many parents and friends supporting the developing musicianship of the junior students. Thank you to all the students who took part in this event, and to the many teachers who made this event possible.
HOLIDAYS
We are advising all instrumental students to ensure that they are diligent in their practice over the holidays. By keeping up practice, skills will continue to improve. Students need to work at practising every day. The Music Centre will be open until 3.45pm on the last day of term for students to collect their instruments from the storerooms.
