OSHCLUB

Hello OSHClub family and friends,
At Before and After School Care we have continued to focus on the children’s interest of cooking. Cooking experiences are often initiated by the children. We appreciate making cakes, cupcakes, waffles and pancakes.
The day the children came dressed in black, red, yellow, blue, green and/ or white to support the Indigenous and Torres Strait Islanders, we introduced ‘dotted painting’ at OSHClub. The colours we used were that of the Aboriginal and Torres Strait flags. The children cleverly used the end of the paint brushes to create their dotted paintings.
Last week, we made different shapes of ice blocks so that we could experiment with ice and food colouring. First, we used salt to help melt the ice and as the ice was melting, we added the food colouring. We all watched in awe as the ice soaked up the food colouring. The children experimented with different colours to make another colour and to create a pattern throughout the ice block.
As the end of term two fast approaches the staff at OSHClub wish every one a relaxing and safe break.
Notes:
o We welcome any ideas and suggestions to our breakfast and after-noon tea menu
o We would be very grateful for any book donations as we now encourage quiet reading for fifteen minutes before out-door experiences
o A reminder that Theresa and I (between the 1st-3rd) will be at Viewbank Primary School over the school holidays
As always, a big shout out to our local bakery for providing us with fresh, warm bread. We appreciate you.
