Senior Room

At OSHC we recognise that students are knowledgeable experts in their own lives, we work hard to provide opportunities for students to authentically collaborate and make decisions that affect them.

Our ‘Senior Program’ is one way that we support students to do that. This term our 5/6 students have enjoyed their own space in the Bungalow, Canteen and the Science rooms.

There they work together to come up with an afternoon tea menu for themselves (within a set budget), they use the iPads to complete an online Woolworths order taking into consideration nutritional value, the groups specific dietary needs as well as their own likes and dislikes.

We have loved listening to students' compromise, problem solve and work out that buying in bulk can actually save them a lot of money!

 Cooking Club

One of the biggest benefits of Cooking Club is that it encourages students to try a range of foods and food combinations. We constantly hear students say “Ewww I’m not eating that!” only to change their mind after cooking in Cooking Club.

For example, our most recent recipe which included a heap of zucchini in the brownie mixture- not one student who participated in Cooking Club didn’t like the final outcome!!

Important Reminder – KIOSK Pin Numbers

All authorised contacts that you have confirmed on your enrolment form will have access to KIOSK (our sign in and out program on the iPad) using their OWN phone number and pin number. Please do not share your details with anybody else, if your authorised contact has forgotten their PIN number, please ask them to come and see a team member who will be able to ID them and reset their pin on the main computer.

Wonder Recycling Rewards for Schools

We are excited to once again join in the ‘Wonder Recycling Rewards for Schools’ initiative in an effort to raise soft plastic recycling awareness and earn points for sports equipment for our school. Please keep your bread bags, tags and wrap packets (from any bread brand not just Wonder) bring them to school and place in the Wonder recycling boxes found in our OSHC room and in the foyer at the front office. Once collected, Wonder is going to turn the plastic into wonderful things like school play equipment!

The more we recycle the more points we can earn for our school!
