Interview with Jess Patane

 Wellbeing

How long have you worked at

BNPS?

I have worked at BNPS for 15 years, I began as a Student Teacher in Year 6 and I have worked in Year 1, Year 2 and Year 3 prior to being the Wellbeing Officer.

Who inspires you?

People who despite their challenges and adversities, show up every day with a positive and grateful attitude to others.

What is your favourite thing to do on weekends?

I enjoy spending time with my family, parks, walks and adventures. My favourite thing to do by myself is go to yoga or a walk at the beach to rebalance.

If you could go on a holiday anywhere in the World, where would you go?

I would really like to explore Europe – Greece, Croatia and Spain!

Are you an early bird or a night owl?

I am an early bird; I love my sleep and I have children who wake me up nice and early :)

What might someone be surprised to know about you?

I am currently doing some study at university in my spare time, studying a Graduate Certificate in Mental Health.

What recently made you smile?

Being in the art room with the Year 5 students, watching their creative talents and them succeed in other areas of the school.

If you could swap places for a day, who would you choose?

I think it would be fun to be a Kinder Teacher for a day and see all the fun games and things they do prior to coming to school.

What would you like to say to the students?

I am continually amazed by the incredible challenges our students have faced during covid and now following, it has been significantly hard on our little people.
