Megan Searle

Megan Searle has worked and studied both in Australia and overseas in Education and Performing Arts for nearly 30 years. Trained at Melbourne University Megan worked at various Melbourne Secondary schools before heading to Paris to study.

 

While overseas Megan worked in England and Singapore as a teacher. On returning to Australia Megan worked in various industries including Education, Finance and Travel. Megan was director of a Theatre Tour company for 14 years which specialised in taking student groups to New York and Los Angeles to learn about the Entertainment Industry. She has completed Post Graduate studies in Arts and Entertainment Management and thrives on creating opportunities for young people to thrive. 

Megan’s son loves Science in the way she loves the Arts. She has a great deal of experience dealing with all areas of the education system and wants to be part of supporting the school to feed the students’ passions and to help all of the students at this amazing school reach their full potential having lots of fun on their journey.

Kalee Henry

Kalee says being a member of School Council is being a member of the whole school community, sharing in the vision and direction of the school, both academically and administratively.

 

She believes every student, both current and future, should be afforded every opportunity and have every tool at their disposal, allowing them to acquire the best education they can, ultimately finding themselves able to make a confident decision about who and what they wish to be.

 

Providing opportunity has been Kalee’s mantra for some 20 years during her involvement in multiple School Councils and Committees, as well as that of various Voluntary and Advocacy Programs, within Education, Business, Government and Not-for-Profit entities where legislation and decision making is paramount.

 

A Financial Administrator with qualifications ranging from Trade to Post Graduate Business Administration (MBA), Kalee has held Executive and General Roles in the areas of Treasury, Legislation, Fundraising and Sponsorship, as well as that of the Finance, Education and Maintenance School Council Sub-Committees, which will see Kalee bring a breadth of knowledge and offer extensive experience to JMSS School Council.

 

Kalee’s daughter is a Year 11 student with a passion for Mathematics, Science and Music.

David Maisey

I am a Mechanical Engineer (Monash University graduate) with an operations grounding and and over twenty years experience leading strategic programs across a breadth of manufacturing industries, including five years as a management consultant at McKinsey and Company. 

 

I am a passionate believer in the importance of STEM skills for making the world a better place, and have a hands on understanding of how critical these skills are to Australian industry. I am excited to be a part of the unique JMSS community that is playing a key role in developing the next generation of innovators and problem solvers. I would welcome the opportunity to contribute further to JMSS through membership of the School Council.

Moses Khor

Dr Moses Khor is currently the Head of Physics at Camberwell Grammar School, and former Assistant Chief Assessor of VCE Physics Exam. He has been at Camberwell Grammar School for 13 years. He was a member of the Board of Directors at SIL Australia (a RTO that provides training for language study, literacy, translation and development) for 16 years including 4 years as Board Chairman (term ending in 2015). 

Dr Moses can bring the perspective of a parent who is also a teacher and together with extensive experience in board governance, organisational budgeting, finance and building community.

Shok Kuan Ho

Shok Kuan started her legal career over 30 years ago.  She is currently a practicing solicitor in a national law firm, focusing in property and commercial law.  She is also an executive board member of the Australia Malaysia Business Council of Victoria and an executive committee member of the Malaysian Developers Council of Australia.  In these roles, she has arranged a number of events bringing together private business owners and the government representatives, including Malaysian consulate and various local authorities.  She has had the opportunity to experience education systems from various jurisdictions, having graduated with a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of Malaya, Graduate Diploma in Commercial Law from Monash University and Masters in Law from the London School of Economics.  She also had experienced the Malaysian school systems as a parent when her children were educated in Malaysia prior to her move to Melbourne.

 

Her eldest son graduated from JMSS in 2015 and her youngest son joined JMSS this year as a new year 11 student.  She is very grateful to JMSS for giving the opportunities to her children to be educated by great and dedicated teachers.  She hopes to be able to use her experience in her legal practice and as a board member in both the councils, to contribute to the school.  She also hopes to be able to provide diverse views from a different perspective
