From the Principal's Desk...

Dear Parents and Carers

I had the privilege of spending some time with the year 6 students on the Wednesday and Thursday of their camp last week. All our Year 6 students were amazing on camp, having a go at all the activities and challenging themselves to have a go at some activities that were outside of their comfort zone. They are a credit to our Year 6 parents/carers and I know that they all came away from the experience even more unified and ready for their last year of Primary School together.

Thank you again to the staff who attended the camp. Your commitment to making yourselves available to look after our Year 6 students both during the day and night over the 3 days of camp is very much appreciated! I hope that our parents/carers of Year 6 students have taken the opportunity to thank the staff. Thank you Miss Healy, Mrs Viola, Mr Vine, Mrs Hesse, Mrs Zanetti and Mr Heller who went along as a nominated parent helper. We also appreciate Miss Myles' attendance and assistance during the evening activities. An awesome team effort!

I would like to reiterate our home/school partnership that we continue to promote and foster at St Helena's Catholic Primary School. It is directly related to our Vision for Learning - Pillar Two: Collaboration (Community). At St Helena’s, we value staff, students, parents, caregivers, parish and the wider community working together to support each person to become the person God intended them to be. In the coming weeks, as we head towards the end of Term 1, Classroom Teachers will be reaching out to our parents/carers to organise parent/teacher interviews to discuss the progress of your child's learning journey. I urge all our parents/carers to ensure they lock in a date and time offered by the teachers so that you can hear the celebrations of your child's learning, as well as discuss individual student goals moving forward. Thanks in anticipation to our teachers for their efforts in preparing for these parent/teacher interviews to ensure that we work together with all our families for the best interests of the students in our care.

Take the time to check out some of the community events/sessions coming up in Ellenbrook, which may be of interest to you. Check out the Community Updates section of our eNewsletter to see what is happening and when.

We will be continuing Enrolment Interviews for Kindergarten in 2024 in the coming weeks. Families with siblings seeking a place in our Kindergarten next year at St Helena's are asked to ensure that you have sent in your enrolment applications to Administration.

It was wonderful to see so many of our families at the Family Mass in our Parish last Sunday morning at St Helena of the Holy Cross Parish Church. We keep in our prayers the students preparing for their First Eucharist. They have Eucharist Enrolment Masses on Saturday 25 March and Sunday 26 March as per our Term Calendar on our website.

Hope to see you at the P&F Sundowner this Friday evening from 5:30pm to 7:30pm. Correspondence has been sent home via SeeSaw and email in regds to the evening. Further information can be found in the P&F section of the eNewsletter too. Thank you to the P&F Committee and all the helpers leading up to the Sundowner and on the evening.

Harmony Day

Harmony Week is the celebration that recognises our diversity and brings together Australians from all different backgrounds. It’s about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone. At St Helena's Catholic Primary School we celebrate all our students and families and we love coming together as one community each and every day, striving to show Something Beautiful for God in all that we say and do.
