International Women’s Day

This is a global holiday celebrated annually on 8 March. It is a focal point in the Women’s 

Rights Movement, bringing attention to issues such as

  • Gender equality
  • Reproductive rights
  • Violence and abuse against women

IWD 2023's campaign theme aims to get the world talking about why "equal opportunities are no longer enough." 

 

The aim of the IWD 2023 #EmbraceEquity campaign theme is to get the world talking about Why equal opportunities aren't enough. People start from different places, so true inclusion and belonging require equitable action. Read more about this here. 

 

A range of books on women leaders, the power of women, personal stories of courage and survival are on display in the Terry Feely Learning Centre and are available for loan.
