SCIENCE

The last full week of the term has been a science bonanza! The Year F/1/2 class said goodbye to our mealworm/ Darkling beetles and released the critters into a suitable garden bed. (The local birds were most appreciative!🤫)

The Years 4/5/6 were kept busy with student led experiments. Sam P and Jaxson C began the week by teaching us how to make plastic from milk to create small ornaments. Holly L and Addison N ran a very popular experiment on crystallisation by making rock candy. Good fun and lots of science was involved too. In a previous week Tilly C had has all learning about non- Newtonian fluids by making a very messy but cool Oobleck.

Ava H, Mietta P and Gwyn N  used spinning snakes to demonstrate how warm air rises. Fortunately we had a bucket of water on hand as Miss P tried to burn the school down!🫣

Darcy S and Jack Q finished the week challenging the class to build DaVinci’s Bridge using only pop sticks, no glue, tape or string. Emma and Pippa proved to be our most successful engineers! Science is so much fun and really gets us thinking. We are all lookin forward to next term’s Science classes.
