Year F/1

It has been another busy week in our room. On Wednesday the F/1/2's were very lucky to be the only ones at school while the 4/5/6's were off at athletics. They loved the chance to be the bigger kids at school and to ring the bell and pick up the sports equipment and put it away. Some students even had the chance to be bus captain as well. It was a great day. 

We have done lots of great work this week. The preps had the chance to create B for bunny and b for bird. They put in some fantastic detail and they all look so fantastic. They are all paying close attention to detail and making sure they are taking their time with work. 

In writing this week we have been talking about persuasive writing and using words like for and against. I have been asking students different questions and asking for their point of view. I have been asking whether they agree or disagree with what I have said. It has been great some of the conversations we have been having and hearing the students opinions. 

In Maths the Year 1's have been looking at reading the calendar and looking for important information and how long it is until an important event. They have done a create job reading the calendar and each morning we take the time to read our class calendar and keep an eye out for any important events.
