BioCATS

The Year 5 and 6 students had an early start on Monday morning, leaving Hamilton at 6:15am.  It was great to see them all in attendance for such an early morning.  Thank you to the parents for transporting them in and out of town. Please see the BioCATS page with some of our students reports about our excursion.

SGSSA Athletics

All students should be congratulated for their efforts throughout the day, regardless of natural athletic talent, all our students ran, jumped and threw to the best of their ability.

Thank you to our wonderful group of parents who supported us by cheering on our young athletes as they run in races and competed in the field events. Please see the Athletics page later in the newsletter for results and pictures.  Some of our students have now qualified for the next level, which will take place on Friday 5th May in Warrnambool. Only the students in the 10,11,12/13 years old age groups are eligible to go compete at the next level. Further details will be available next week after Miss Purnell enters and confirms the amount of events with the SGSSA that the eligible students can compete in.

Thank you to Miss Purnell for her organisation of our team and completing all the necessary administration and selection of teams prior to the day.  A special thank you to all our wonderful helpers on the day with assisting us with running the long jump events.

Working Bee

This Sunday is our working bee, 9am -12noon.  I know that families are busy but if you could spare some time to come and help out with some jobs it would be much appreciated.  If you cannot attend on Sunday, you can nominate yourself for a job and do it at your own convenience.  See the list of jobs in the 'Working Bee' page of this newsletter. Items that can be bought if you have them are: ute, trailer, pruners, gloves, rakes, wheelbarrow, hedger, blower, sandpaper, pop rivet, paint scraper to peel off sticker.  Hope to see you here on Sunday.  Also, please bring your hats, sunscreen, snacks & drinks.

Smile Squad

Our school will welcome 'The Smile Squad' team from Dental Health Services Victoria starting 13th June 2023.  Smile Squad is the Victorian Government free school dental program which provides students with a free dental check-up, preventive services, and treatment at school.  Please see Tammy's 'Notes from the office' page if you would like to consent to your child receiving free dental care at school.
