Mathematics at OGPS 

Year 6 Maths

During Year 6 maths, we are exploring how mathematical concepts are used to share information effectively within an ‘Information Report’ text type.

Concepts that we have explored include tables, graphs, measurement conversion and scaled diagrams.

Staff Professional Development

Last Friday, OGPS staff engaged in an informative, professional development day led by our Numeracy Learning Specialist, Ann Miller. Staff developed a deeper understanding of the role that more positive and productive learner dispositions and mindsets might play in supporting the learning and teaching of Mathematics.

As part of our discussions, we observed and discussed the current student and staff data on mathematics dispositions and looked at how we can delve deeper into how to use these dispositions to improve learning outcomes and create positive learning behaviours.
