All students attending St Louis de Montfort's Aspendale have the right to feel safe. The care, safety and wellbeing of children and young people is a fundamental responsibility of all within our school.

Good afternoon families,

 

It is certainly a hot afternoon, I hope you are all managing to stay cool. This week is going to be a busy one with lots of events happening for all students.

 

 Kingston Division Swimming Carnival

Congratulations to our 11 students who competed in this competition on Tuesday. They did a wonderful job in representing St louis. Thank you to the parents for their support.

 

Working bee  

Our working bee this morning it was amazing to be able to get lots of jobs completed.  We clipped all the aggies, painted the Tram, prepped the Cubby and seats for a splash of colour and cleaned our sensory paths   Thank you to the Bartlett, Currie, Coull, Dawes, Dixon, Durkin, Earley, Gallagher & Westhorpe families who attended.

 

Harmony Week

St Louis will be celebrating Harmony Day on Tuesday the 21st of March . Harmony Week is the celebration that recognises our diversity and brings together Australians from all different backgrounds.  It’s about inclusiveness, respect and a sense of belonging for everyone.​  Your child is welcome to wear a touch of orange with their school uniform, orange is the colour for Harmony Day. 

Our year 3-6 will participate in a ceremony on the oval at 9am to celebrate and induct our new fire carriers for 2023 parents are welcome to attend.  Students will take part in a variety of activities throughout the day related to inclusiveness and respect of diversity.

Grandparent's Day 

Prep - Year 2 students will be celebrating Grandparents Day on Thursday 23 March. All grandparents/ special friends are invited to attend. Please read the relevant class pages for all the details.

 

Lightning Premiership 

This Friday the Year 6 students will be playing in the Chelsea District Lightning premiership for the summer sports. We wish them lots of luck and fun.

 

Retirement

Mrs Gaynor Downey is retiring after 20 years at St Louis. Gaynor has been the backbone of our library and the amazing space she has created for all the students in our school. Gaynor has also been the Director of all the past school musicals. She has been an amazing staff member and will be greatly missed. We wish her all the happiness for her future travels.
