Lilydale High School Year 6 Transition Visit Report

On Thursday, 23rd March, the Year 6 students went to Lilydale High School for a transition/sports day.

The dark rain clouds didn’t dampen our spirits, and after an initial drenching on our way to the buses, we arrived at Lilydale and gathered with all of the local primary school’s students.

We were split into groups and assigned a Year 9 student leader to take us around to a range of different activities, such as dodgeball, kickball, cricket, capture the flag, fitness stations, Robotics in the STEAM lab and even a visit to their Zoology Centre, where we pet the enormous monitor lizard.

At the end of the day, Lilydale High awarded trophies for the best performing groups in each activities. Bimbadeen Heights won the overall ‘Group Fitness’ award for Group 2 – which was assisted by Karen Polkinghorne – and each member also got a First Place ribbon. It was a fantastic day, made all the more amazing by the dedication, responsibility, integrity, resilience, and  compassion demonstrated by our students.
