Attendance Matters

On occasion, your child may need to be absent from school.  Justified reasons for student absences may include:

  • being sick, or having an infectious disease
  • having an unavoidable medical appointment
  • being required to attend a recognised religious holiday
  • exceptional or urgent family circumstance (eg attending a funeral)

Parents are required to explain the absences of their children from school promptly.  To assist with this process, the school office will contact parents each day your child is absent, if we have not received an explanation, which can be submitted in the following ways: by phone, email or via the eNews app.

Please attend to the following correspondence:

  • Year 6: Year 7 2024 Expression of Interest
  • Parent Teacher Interviews
  • Kindergarten: Sound Scouts Hearing Assessment
  • Voluntary School Contributions

Support the school and the growth of our students – become an Ethics Teacher!

The Ethics program at Roselea builds the critical reasoning ability of our students, helping them to think through different issues and identify strong and weak arguments. The classes are designed to create an inclusive learning environment where students discuss a range of topics, including fairness, friendship, truth and empathy.

At RPS, we have a popular program, supported by a fantastic team of volunteer teachers including parents and members of the local community. In fact, the program is so popular that we having trouble keeping up with the demand for classes this year. That's why we need you! We are now looking for volunteers to take classes from term 2. Teaching Ethics is a great way to get involved in the classroom and support the school. It could also help you to develop your own thinking, reasoning and facilitation skills!

Volunteers don't need previous teaching experience or a background in philosophy or ethics. You receive full training and a fully prepared lesson script each week. Classes run every Wednesday from 12.30-1pm.

If teaching ethics is a possibility for you, or someone you know (we'd love to hear from some grandparents!), please contact our Ethics Coordinator, Cathy Chase at cathy.chase@primaryethics.com.au or 0414 784 272.
