NAPLAN

The National Assessment Program - Literacy and Numeracy (NAPLAN) is an annual assessment completed by students across Australia. Students in Year 3 and Year 5 will be undertaking NAPLAN testing in Weeks 8 and 9 of Term 1 (15-27 March). The tests will be conducted online, with the Year 3 students still completing a paper test for the writing component. NAPLAN provides parents with information as to how their child is performing at that point in time. This is just one aspect of assessment in the areas of reading, writing, conventions of language (spelling, grammar and punctuation) and numeracy.

Students may prepare for the tests by practising their typing skills and completing homework to revise key concepts taught in class. It is important that students are encouraged to read the questions carefully, check their responses and attempt all questions.
