Hoodie Up for Autism Day - Tuesday, 4th of April, Gold Coin Donation Appreciated
April is World Autism Acceptance Month and on Tuesday, the 4th of April, we’re inviting our students and staff to wear a hoodie to school to show understanding, acceptance and support for the Autistic community. Gold coin donations are appreciated and will be donated to Amaze, who deliver vital support to Autistic people and their families so they can live their best lives. You can find out more about the important work they do here: https://www.amaze.org.au
Why hoodies?
Some Autistic people experience sensory sensitivities and can become overloaded by stimuli in their environment. Wearing their hoodie up means they can block out bright lights and busy environments which helps calm them.
Upcoming Mother’s Day and Special Person’s Stall
We’re busy preparing for our annual Mother’s Day and Special Person’s Stall to be held in Week 2 of Term 2.
Are you a creative with some craft or baking skills? Are you a green thumb with some seedlings or succulent cuttings you could pot up? Or perhaps you have connections to a business that may be able to help us? We’re seeking donations to fill our stall with beautiful items for the students to purchase for their loved ones. We’re looking for a variety of items that might be handmade items, craft items, small plants, edible items with a long shelf life, sewn items (for example eye masks or wheatbags, tote bags, beauty cases) and more. If you’re able to help with donations, please get in touch at lepagesocialandfundraising@gmail.com
