About St Patrick

St Patrick is the patron saint of Ireland. Born in Roman Britain in the late 4th century, he was kidnapped at the age of 16 and taken to Ireland as a slave. He escaped but returned to convert the Irish to Christianity. By the time of his death on March 17, 461, he had established monasteries, churches, and schools.

The Significance of the Shamrock

The Shamrock: St Patrick used the three leaf clover to teach the Trinity. That in one God there are three beings - the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

St Patrick's Day Mass

Mass to celebrate St Patrick's Day will be held at 10am on Friday 17th March with Fr Michael Morley. Everyone is welcome to attend.

Caritas - Project Compassion

The Grade 6 leaders have begun fundraising efforts for Caritas - Project Compassion. They will undertake the following fundraising efforts:

Chickitas

They will be selling freshly laid chooks for $7 per dozen as they have learnt that from Priscilla's story that for $7 a family in Zimbabwe can buy a chook to sell their own eggs and make money. We will advertise on Facebook when eggs are available for purchase.

Colouring in Competition

Students will deliver colouring in pages for students to enter a colouring in competition. Entry is $1 and students can enter as many times as they wish. There will be a winner from each class announced.

Coin Line

Students will be invited to bring donations of coins to create a coin line that will create a message or symbol.

Act of Solidarity

Students will be educated about the importance of water in every community. They will try to help everyone realise that running water is something we all take for granted at times. Our student leaders will challenge our school to utilise strategies to ensure they are using water wisely.

*There are Project Compassion boxes in each classroom. Donations can be made at any time.
