On Monday the 22nd of August our Kingswood District Mixed and Girls Basketball teams went off to compete in the Mordialloc District Basketball Championship. Our girls’ team played their hearts out all day and continued to improve through every game. They ended up finishing on a high by winning their last match of the day. Our mixed team had a phenomenal tournament by going undefeated and winning the championship game. The team showed great fight in coming back from behind in two games and stayed composed in the dying seconds of the final game to take home the victory. Our mixed team will be competing at the Division Championships early next term.

Continuing with the theme of basketball, our year 3-4 students have been enjoying their basketball clinics run by the Dandenong Basketball Association. Students have been working on their dribbling (offensive & defensive) as well as passing and working together as a team.

I would also like to congratulate the students who competed at the District Athletics Carnival on Monday the 29th of August. We had some great results in which a few students have now earned their place at the Division Carnival. More information on placings/results will be sent out once I receive them. Thank you to our parent helpers for assisting on the day as well as the parents who dropped their children off at school to catch the bus or drove them to the event on the pupil-free day.
