Conversation Café

Week 7 already and so much is happening around the school. It is great to see so many participating in each other's conversations and games. We have introduced “Conversation Café” to the weekly schedule to support language development through the encouragement of more student connections. 

Students are invited to come along, grab their favourite game and respectfully engage with each other with the focus on achieving an atmosphere of trust and inclusion for International Students to develop their speaking and listening skills. Putting yourself out there is a challenge for many young people, and speaking out loud can be a little intimidating when you are still not sure about pronunciation and worried about getting it right. 

Conversation Café is designed to alleviate these worries and provide a safe and supportive environment for our students, including mainstream students with language barriers.
