Name:  Sarah Barrand

 

Role:  English teacher, English Coordinator and all around legend.

 

How long have you been at Macleod College?  This is my third year at Macleod. 

 

Favourite book or Movie?  My favourite book at the moment is 'Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine' by Gail Honeyman. (Or any of the delightful books that we are reading at the Macleod College Book Club). My favourite movie of all time is 'Calamity Jane' - who doesn't love a Western Musical featuring Doris Day? 

 

Favourite Food?  My favourite food is toast. Just plain buttered toast, nothing better. 

 

What do you enjoy doing in your downtime?  I like hanging out with my friends, hiking, travelling and reading. I really enjoy a long weekend hiking and camping with my friends. 

 

Favourite inspirational quote?  You can only chase one rabbit at a time. 

 

Favourite thing about working at Macleod College?  The students - we have such an amazing bunch of students at Macleod. They make me laugh (like, really laugh) every day.

Favourite book or Movie?  Freedom & Death by Nikos Kazantakis. The Sea of Many Returns by Arnold Zable. Miss Hazel & The Rose Parks League by Jonathan Odell. Summertime by Vannessa Lafaye. East of Eden by John Steinbeck.

 

Favourite Food?  Everything! How on earth can you pick one cuisine, in this wonderful city of Melbourne we have it all! And it is so good! 

 

What do you enjoy doing in your downtime?  Gardening, reading, watching great movies, going for walks, catching up with family & friends, trips to the beach, singing to myself (In my head I sound like Whitney Houston)

 

Favourite inspirational quote?  Oh, I want to dance with somebody!

 

Favourite thing about working at Macleod College?  The meditation garden, when I am on yard duty you will find me singing and dancing there!
